Shopping Center. Madrid Spain

ARCHIPELAGO is a shopping center that, in opposition to traditional box shopping malls, is organized into retail islands within an open-air pedestrian commercial area accessible from the car park that surrounds the whole complex. The decision to organize the retail areas in a built pedestrian archipelago responds to the intention of maximizing the area of shop windows in the complex in order to increase exposure and contact with consumers. This decision is also an advantage as a way of planning of the works in phases, which allows the gradual opening of the shopping center.
